Senza entrare nei dettagli tecnici, nella giornata di oggi 06 Maggio 2020 una mole spropositata di dati (fino a 40Gb/s) è stata diretta verso i nostri servizi, per diverse ore, al fine di renderli inaccessibili, e riuscendo nell’intento di far sospendere il route verso il nostro IP.
Il danno arrecato ci avrebbe costretti a rimanere offline per diversi giorni (in attesa di risoluzione da parte della farm). Fortunatamente, ci eravamo premuniti, e siamo riusciti in breve a migrare i servizi verso un nuovo hosting.
Chi poteva aspettarsi che un piccolo progetto come questo avrebbe attirato tali attenzioni? “Cui prodest?”, ovvero “A chi giova?”: una domanda che possiamo porci per cercare di capire chi potrebbe essere l’autore del gesto. E rispondo, con Seneca: “cui prodest scelus, is fecit”, ovvero “colui al quale il crimine porta vantaggi, egli l’ha compiuto”.
Non mi sembra difficile ipotizzare a chi possa portar vantaggio silenziare chi non acconsente allo stato di cose. Ma, in fondo è un ottimo segnale, poiché significa che anche se siamo pochi possiamo fare la differenza: se una piccola realtà attrae questo tipo di “attenzione”, dunque, la nostra posizione si rafforza.
